Svinnegarns kyrka lies about five kilometres south-west of Enköping. The oldest parts were built in the early 13th century. It is the pilgrimages to Svinnegarns källa, a thousand-year-old tradition, that make the church's history so interesting and well worth a visit.

About the church
Svinnegarns kyrka is a church building belonging to Tillinge and Södra Åsunda parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. Until 2006 the church belonged to Svinnegarn parish, which was then merged into Södra Åsunda parish.
About one kilometre south of the church lies Svinnegarns källa (Svinnegarn's spring), which is one of Sweden's most famous sacrificial springs. In the late Middle Ages the church was an important pilgrimage church. The churchyard is surrounded by a grey-stone wall whose eastern and western parts each have a lychgate, probably built in the late Middle Ages. On a hill by the vicarage there used to stand a bell tower whose foundation can still be discerned. In the church porch there is a rune stone built into the wall.
