Sparrsätra kyrka

Sparrsätra kyrka lies ten kilometres north-west of Enköping. It is a stone church with high vaulted ceilings in the Gothic style, built in the early 14th century. In the church there are furnishings that probably come from an earlier wooden church on the same site, for example a sandstone baptismal font from the 12th century.

About the church
Sparrsätra kyrka is a church building in Sparrsätra in the Diocese of Uppsala. It is the parish church of Sparrsätra-Bred parish. The church lies in Sparrsätra church village on the Enköping plain, about ten kilometres north-west of Enköping. Next to the church runs county road C 510.
South of the church stands a bell tower that was probably built at the end of the 18th century. Two church bells hang in the tower, recast in 1741 by the bell founder Isaac Rockman. An earlier bell tower can be seen in a drawing from 1748 by Olof Grau. There the tower stands on the north side of the church.
