Simtuna kyrka

Parts of the tower and nave of Simtuna kyrka were built in the 13th century. In the 15th century the church was extended in brick, and the northern transept and the sacristy were added. The church's fine wall paintings in the vaults were painted in the 1460s. In the 16th century the southern transept was built. The tower acquired its present appearance in 1820.

Simtuna kyrka is a church building in Simtuna parish (historical) in the Diocese of Uppsala. It belongs to Fjärdhundra parish in Enköping Municipality and, until the parish merger in 2006, was the parish church of Simtuna parish. The church lies just under 20 kilometres north-west of Enköping and west of Fjärdhundra. In the Middle Ages the church belonged to the eleventh canonry of the cathedral chapter.
