About the church

Hubbo kyrka is a church building belonging to Tillberga parish in the Diocese of Västerås. Until 1 January 2006 the church belonged to Hubbo parish, which was then merged with Tillberga parish.

The very well preserved medieval church stands on a small rise in the otherwise cultivated plain surrounding it. The church was probably built during the first half of the 14th century. Since a porch was built and the brick vaults in the church interior were added in the 15th century, no major changes have been made to the building apart from altered portals, windows and roofs. The bell tower from the 17th century is one of the oldest in the Diocese of Västerås. Among the furnishings are Sweden's oldest depiction of Anne, the mother of Mary, and an unusual medieval baptismal font cover.
