About the church
Vårfrukyrkan, Stockholm is a church in the Stockholm district of Fruängen in Stockholm. It belongs to Brännkyrka parish in the Diocese of Stockholm. The church centre, with parish premises clad in red facing brick, was designed by Sven Hesselgren and inaugurated in 1963 as Fruängens kyrkcentrum, though without the planned worship space. Construction of such a space began in 2004, in cast in-situ concrete to designs by Lars Bjursten and Kerstin Holmer. The church was consecrated on the first Sunday of Advent 2005 and was then given the name Vårfrukyrkan.
