About the church

Bäckbykyrkan is a church building in the Bäckby district of Västerås, belongs to Västerås Lundby parish and is part of Västerås pastorate.

It was consecrated in 1974 and is a joint church between the Church of Sweden and the Evangelical Fatherland Foundation, EFS. Already when the district was being planned, a church in the centre was intended, and the architect responsible for both the church and a large part of the other centre buildings was Olle Stål.
