About the church
Rytterne kyrka is a church building in Rytterne. It is the parish church of Rytterne parish in the Diocese of Västerås in Västmanland.
It was built in 1819 after the historical parishes of Lilla Rytterne and Stora Rytterne had merged to form a single parish. The two earlier parish churches survive as ruins.
The church was built in the neoclassical style and has to a large extent preserved its exterior appearance. Its interior, on the other hand, is largely the result of a remodelling in the 1910s by the architect Erik Hahr. Several objects from the two early churches remain in the church, several of them from the Middle Ages.
