Össeby-Garns kyrka

About the church

Össeby-Garns kyrka is a church building belonging to Össeby parish in the Diocese of Stockholm. Until a merger of parishes on 1 January 2006, the church belonged to Össeby-Garn parish. The church is located in Vallentuna Municipality, on a hill at the northern end of the lake Garnsviken near the outflow of the river Husaån.

The church was originally called Garns kyrka, and two kilometres southwest of it stood Össeby kyrka. In 1838 the historical parishes of Össeby and Garn were merged and the church was given the name Össeby-Garns kyrka. Össeby kyrka was abandoned and became a ruin.
