About the church
Malsta kyrka is a church building in the historical parish of Malsta and belongs to Norrtälje-Malsta parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. The church lies on a hillside sloping towards the northern shore of Malstasjön. On the crest of the hill north of the church stands an octagonal wooden bell tower. Its tarred cladding dates from 1831 and conceals an original open construction. The belfry has a shingle-clad, ogee-curved cap. The great bell is medieval and possibly dates from the church's earliest period. The richly ornamented small bell was cast in 1878. Just west of the church lies Brehmerska skolan. Next to the church, on the other side of the road, stands a parish storehouse (sockenmagasin).
