About the church
Ljusterö kyrka is a church building on Ljusterö. Since 1998 it has belonged to Ljusterö-Kulla parish in the Diocese of Stockholm. The white-painted octagonal wooden church stands at Mellansjö next to Kyrksjön, in the middle of Ljusterö, about three kilometres from the ferry landing.
To the east, directly adjoining the church, stands a yellow-painted vicarage that was built in 1870. On the other side of the country road is a church school. The church and churchyard are surrounded by a dry-stone churchyard wall from the 1750s. Södra Ljusterö parish also used the church.
