Hyby nya kyrka

After the lightning strike that destroyed most of the earlier church, plans were begun to build a new one. A Danish architect was engaged. He had already designed a church in Copenhagen, and the people of Hyby liked the proposal. The two churches are very similar to each other, and both are what we call wrongly oriented, meaning that the tower is in the west and not in the east, as is usual.
