About the church
Husby-Sjuhundra kyrka is a church building located in the village of Husby in Husby-Sjuhundra parish (historical), which now belongs to Husby, Skederid and Rö parish in Roslagens västra pastorate in the Diocese of Uppsala. The church is located about 10 kilometres west of Norrtälje and about 10 kilometres east of Rimbo. About 150 metres south of the church the river Husbyån flows eastwards before emptying into Lake Lommaren. Today the church lies some distance from the western shore of Lommaren, but it was placed near the water when it was built in the 12th century. The name Husby indicates that a royal estate once stood here, whose revenues constituted the king's apanage.
