About the church
Uppenbarelsekyrkan is a church in Saltsjöbaden in Nacka Municipality. Uppenbarelsekyrkan is one of two church buildings belonging to Saltsjöbaden parish in the Diocese of Stockholm; the other is Skogsö kapell.
Uppenbarelsekyrkan was built in 1910-1913 to designs by Ferdinand Boberg and was consecrated on 18 May 1913. Both the façade and the frame were built in red Helsingborg brick. The artistic decoration was carried out by Olle Hjortzberg and Carl Milles. Stylistically, the building is an unusual combination of National Romanticism and Art Nouveau, most comparable to Engelbrektskyrkan, which was completed the following year.
The church was a donation to Saltsjöbaden from Knut Agathon Wallenberg and Alice Wallenberg. The couple are buried in a burial chapel in the church, which incidentally has no churchyard nearby.
