About the church
Steneby kyrka is a church building that since 2022 has belonged to Steneby parish in the Diocese of Karlstad. The church lies in the historical parish of Steneby in Bengtsfors Municipality.
West of the church there is a hill called Klockeberget (the bell hill), where the church's bell towers once stood. According to older traditions, Klockeberget with its giant's kettles (glacial potholes) was a place of pagan worship. It is now set aside as the Steneby nature reserve.
