The oldest known record of Sanne kyrka is in Bishop Eystein's Jordebog from the year 1391 (Sandarudz kirkia). The present church of Sanne was built in 1845–1847 to designs by Johan Fredrik Åbom, and is built in the neoclassical style.

Sanne kyrka is a church building just east of the lake Sannesjön in Munkedal Municipality. Since 2022 it has belonged to Munkedal parish (formerly Sanne parish) in the Diocese of Gothenburg.
