Klosterkyrkan in central Ystad is part of a Grey Friars monastery from the 13th century. The church is owned by Ystad Municipality, but the Church of Sweden's Ystad-Sövestad parish has the right to use it for services, baptisms, weddings, confirmations and funerals.

About the church
Sankt Petri kyrka, or Klosterkyrkan ("the Monastery Church"), is a church building in the north-eastern part of the town centre of Ystad. It is owned by Ystad Municipality but may be used by Ystad-Sövestad parish in the Diocese of Lund. Outside the monastery there is a rose garden and a herb garden. In 2002 the rose garden was laid out in the heart of the monastery courtyard, designed by the artist Maria Björklund. She chose the wheel of St Catherine as her starting point, as St Catherine was one of the most important saints of the Grey Friars.
