Salems kyrka

Salems kyrka is a church building in the Romanesque style, built in the early 12th century. The church lies beside the E4, some 20 kilometres south of Stockholm. The baptismal font dates from the 12th century, and a crucifix from the 13th century is mounted in the chancel arch. The pulpit dates from 1809. It is placed above the altar, which is unusual. The old pulpit, demolished the same year, has disappeared.

Salems kyrka is a church building beside the E 4 motorway, some 20 kilometres south of Stockholm, within Salem Municipality in Södermanland. The church, which stands on a promontory south of the lake Bornsjön, is nestled among large oaks, lime trees, alders and birches. The area is rich in ancient remains, and the road Gamla Södertäljevägen runs beside the church.
