About the church
Möja kyrka is a church building from 1769 on Stora Möja in the Diocese of Stockholm. It is the parish church of Djurö, Möja and Nämdö parish. The church lies by a bay on the southern part of Stora Möja in the Stockholm archipelago.
The churchyard, from 1755, has the shape of an irregular rectangle and is surrounded by laid grey-stone walls which in the north and east have the character of terrace walls. In the churchyard stands an older "timsten" of hewn sandstone. The steps in front of the porch in the south consist of a grave slab of red sandstone that was moved here from Värmdö churchyard. Just south of the churchyard lies a vicarage. A mortuary designed by the architect Martin Hedman was added in 1948-50 in connection with the extension of the churchyard to the north.
