Welcome to Hortlax kyrka! The church was built on a hill in the middle of the village in 1913-1917. It is a compact cruciform stone church with white plaster on the outside and was built in a Gothic style influenced by Art Nouveau (Jugendstil).

About the church
Hortlax kyrka is a church building in Hortlax. It is the parish church of Hortlax parish in the Diocese of Luleå. The church stands in a forest clearing on a hill, with a nearby church town (kyrkstad) from the 1920s. The church town is the youngest in Sweden and also the only one designed by an architect.
