About the church
Heliga Ljusets kyrka lies by the square in Torvalla Centrum in Östersund and belongs to Brunflo parish in the Diocese of Härnösand. It is a cooperation church between the Church of Sweden and the Evangeliska Fosterlandsstiftelsen, EFS. The church is brick-red and was built in 1988 to designs by the architect Rolf Bergh. The church tower has a shiny roof and is crowned by a watchful ptarmigan on its spire. The interior of the church has rich artistic decoration, including art-glass windows.
