About the church
Hallstaviks kyrka is a church building in Hallstavik and belongs to Häverö-Edebo parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. Before the merger in 2006 the church belonged to Häverö parish. The church stands on a wooded plot along the country road. On a rocky knoll opposite the church entrance stands a bell tower that is a copy of the Gunillaklockan in Uppsala. The church bell was cast by the Bergholtz bell foundry. The material is old, worn machine parts from the Hallsta paper mill. There is no churchyard at Hallstaviks kyrka. Below the bell tower, the only grave at Hallstaviks kyrka was hewn into the rock. There rested the initiator of the church project, the company director Fredrik Grewin, and his wife. In 2008 the grave was moved to Häverö churchyard, where the couple now rest near the main entrance to the church.
