About the church

Gustav Adolfs kyrka is a Neo-Gothic church building in Sundsvall. It is the parish church of Sundsvall parish in the Diocese of Härnösand. The church was previously named after Lovisa Ulrika, but the name was changed to the present one in 1955.

The church was built in 1894, and a rebuilding took place in 1952. The architect was Gustaf Hermansson (1864–1931) and the master builder was Per Johan Petterson of Skövde. The church tower reaches a height of 81 metres.
