Faringe kyrka was built at the end of the Middle Ages. Faringe parish with its own church has existed since the end of the 13th century. It is not known whether the church stood on the present site, and most likely it was originally a wooden church.

About the church
Faringe kyrka is a church building belonging to Faringe parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. The church lies in Faringe church village near county road 661 between Uppsala and Hallstavik. It is confirmed that as early as the 13th century Faringe was a parish with its own church. West of the church, outside the churchyard, stands a bell tower from 1668. Originally the tower was an open structure with a hood over the bells. In 1824 the present red-painted board cladding was added. The tower was renovated in 1948. The large church bell was donated in 1629 and recast in 1876. The small bell was recast in 1810.
