About the church
Engelbrektskyrkan is the parish church of Engelbrekt parish in the Diocese of Stockholm. It is situated up on the old mill hill in Lärkstaden on Östermalm. The plot with the church and the parish hall occupies the whole block Korsnäbben. The church is regarded as the architect Lars Israel Wahlman's foremost work, and also one of the foremost buildings of the Swedish Art Nouveau and National Romantic era. The church was named after Engelbrekt Engelbrektsson. The property Korsnäbben 1 is classified "blue" by the Stockholm City Museum, which is the highest class and means "that the buildings are judged to have exceptionally high cultural-historical value".
