About the church
Bladåkers kyrka is a church building in Knutby-Bladåker parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. The church is located in the church village of Bladåkersby in the north-eastern part of Uppsala Municipality. The setting around the church, including Bladåkers kyrkskola (church school), is classified as being of cultural-historical value.
A little over a hundred metres east of the church stands a bell tower from 1748. A churchyard wall with lychgates was built at the same time as the church. The lychgate in the northern churchyard wall still exists, while the lychgate in the southern wall was demolished when the churchyard was extended to the south around 1860. The churchyard wall has been rebuilt since the Middle Ages, has been whitewashed and has had a shingle-clad wooden roof.
