About the church
Våmbs kyrka is a church building that has belonged since 2014 to Skövde parish (formerly Våmb parish) in the Diocese of Skara. It lies on the eastern slope of Billingen in Skövde Municipality.
The church is believed to have been built in the first half of the 12th century. According to the legend of Saint Elin of Skövde, the patron saint of Västergötland, it was she who built the church on her farm in Våmb, and on the slope below the church there is a sacrificial spring named after her.
