About the church
Trefaldighetskyrkan is the parish church of Arvika-Ny parish, Diocese of Karlstad, Värmland County. The church was built in 1909–1911, and the architects were Ivar Tengbom and Ernst Torulf. The architectural style is a National Romantic mixed style with many styles present.
Architecturally, the church is a three-aisled basilica with a polygonal apse and a gable tower. The frame and outer walls are rendered masonry of natural stone. The roof is a gabled roof with a lantern and a spire. Inside, the church is plastered and has an open roof truss. The roof is of wood. The triangular façade ends upwards in a long point, and on the sides there are tower caps in the Baroque style.
When the church was built, it was required that the materials be sourced locally. The bricks for the church were fired in the area, and the gneiss in the stone foundation was quarried in Dottevik. The slate for the roof was brought from Glava.
