About the church
Skutskärs kyrka, or Johanneskyrkan, is a church building belonging to Älvkarleby-Skutskär parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. The church is located in the community of Skutskär on the coast of northernmost Uppland, between the mouth of the Dalälven river in the Bay of Gävle and the border with Gästrikland. Skutskär is a young community that has its origin in the sawmill established there in the 1870s. The church stands on a hill in a green area on the northern edge of the community.
