S:t Olofs kyrka on Österlen is a pilgrimage church dedicated to S:t Olof and a major tourist destination. The oldest parts of the church, the present chancel and sacristy, were probably built in the latter part of the 12th century or the early 13th century. Sankt Olofs kyrka is a church building in Sankt Olof on Österlen. It is the parish church of Simrishamn parish in the Diocese of Lund.
The church is a popular pilgrimage church among various Christian denominations. The reason for this is the old cult of Olof and the fact that the sacrificial site Sankt Olofs källa is located in Sankt Olof. The village was called Lunkende by, but because the church was Denmark's largest sanctuary of Olof, the place name was eventually forgotten and the whole village took the name of the church. This is how a village on Österlen came to bear the name of the Norwegian saint-king Olof.
