About the church
Jacobs kyrka or Sankt Jacobs kyrka is a church building in Stockholm. The church is located at Jakobs torg opposite the Opera House, with Kungsträdgården at its eastern gable. Construction of the church began in the 1580s, but owing to various delays it was not completed until about 60 years later and was consecrated only in 1643, on the first Sunday of Advent.
In 2019 the church ceased to be a parish church and has since been owned by the Diocese of Stockholm.
