About the church
Sankt Andreas kyrka is a church building in Helsingborg belonging to Maria parish in the Diocese of Lund. It is named after the apostle Andrew.
The church lies in the northern parts of Helsingborg. S:t Andreas kyrka was consecrated in 1926 by Bishop Edvard Magnus Rodhe as a hospital church for S:ta Maria Hospital, a psychiatric hospital that was in operation from 1927 until the 1990s. In the 1990s the church was deconsecrated, but in 1997 it was bought by Maria parish of the Church of Sweden for a symbolic sum and was then made into a neighbourhood church for the emerging residential area of Maria Park.
