About the church
Rone kyrka is a church building in Rone. It is the parish church of Alva, Hemse and Rone parish in the Diocese of Visby. The church, from the 14th century, is situated in flat countryside by the coast in south-eastern Gotland. Since the Middle Ages the church has been called Lang Jaku after its patron saint James, and its tall church tower has been a landmark for seafarers. Rone kyrka is the tallest church on Gotland.
