Österlövsta kyrka

Österlövsta kyrka lies in open countryside near county road 76, about five kilometres north-west of Lövstabruk and about five kilometres south of Skärplinge. The church was consecrated in 1451 by Archbishop Johannes Bengtsson and dedicated to the Virgin Mary, John the Baptist and Saint Birgitta.

About the church
Österlövsta kyrka is a church building belonging to Hållnäs-Österlövsta parish in Tierp Municipality. The church stands on a hill in the valley of the Strömarån, about five kilometres north-west of Lövstabruk, along national road 76 between Skärplinge and Lövstabruk. Two hundred metres south-east of the church, remains of an earlier wooden church with a brick sacristy have been found.
