From the church there is a wide view over the district and Ornungasjön. Near the church there are cairns and stone circles from the Bronze and Iron Ages, which show that the area was used early on as a burial ground.

Ornunga kyrka is a church building on a crest in the village of Ornunga in the south-eastern part of Vårgårda Municipality. Since 2006 it belongs to Asklanda parish (formerly Ornunga parish) in the Diocese of Skara.
