The church was designed by the architect Gustaf Améen and was consecrated on 11 December 1910. Above the church door is a stone relief depicting Christ as "the sun of grace, so glorious and gentle", surrounded by the symbols of the evangelists: the lion (Mark), the angel (Matthew), the eagle (John), the ox (Luke). The church's interior dates from an extensive restoration - partly a rebuilding - in 1953-1955, and a renovation of the church in 2020-2022.
