Nykyrka kyrka

The church was built in 1887 following a proposal from the Sager brothers of Ryfors bruk (ironworks). It replaced the very first church in the parish, built in 1656, which was then in great need of renovation but was demolished instead.

About the church
Nykyrka kyrka is a church building that since 2010 has belonged to Mullsjö-Sandhem parish (2002-2010 Mullsjö parish and earlier Nykyrka parish) in the Diocese of Skara. It is located on the western outskirts of the central town of Mullsjö Municipality.
The name Nykyrka comes from the fact that a new church was built on the site in 1656 and that twelve farms then formed the historical parish of Nykyrka.
