Motala kyrka is the parish's main church, which is significant for how the service is shaped. On every Sunday and holiday at 11.00 a.m., a High Mass is as a rule celebrated. The Mass usually begins with a procession with cross and Gospel candle. The Gospel is read in the middle of the congregation. Most often a choir, singers or instrumentalists take part.

About the church
Motala kyrka is a church building in Motala in the Diocese of Linköping. It is the parish church of Motala parish. The church is located on Prästgatan between Motala harbour and Stora torget. Motala kyrka was for a long time an annex of Vinnerstad but is now itself a mother church and the parish's main church. No burials have taken place since the end of the 19th century. In the churchyard lies the businessman Daniel Fraser (1787–1849), who is buried there. There is also a memorial stone to him. Other buildings include a storeroom, an outbuilding and a burial chapel (1956). Enclosures consist of a hedge and a drystone wall.
