About the church
Margaretakyrkan in Lycksele is a church in Lycksele parish in the Diocese of Luleå of the Church of Sweden. The church lies at Gammplatsen by the Ume älv and was built in 1973 to designs by Bengt Lidström and Rolf Sixtensson. The building is a reconstruction of the church from 1736 that stood only 150 metres from the present site. In summer, Sunday services and devotions are held here, and the church then serves as a roadside church open to passing travellers.
