In March 1946 the Lappträsk kapell foundation was established. In 1948 the chapel was built after a plot of land had been separated from the property of the farm owner Oskar Larsson.

Lappträsks kyrka is a church building in Lappträsk in the Diocese of Luleå. It is the parish church of Haparanda parish in the Diocese of Luleå. Until 2010 it belonged to the now dissolved Karl Gustav parish.
