About the church
Långseruds kyrka is a church building in Kyrkebol in Säffle Municipality. It is the parish church of Långserud parish. The church lies on the southern shore of Lake Aspen. Within the historical parish of Långserud there were three churches and chapels in the Middle Ages, namely Åstenskogs kyrka, Lönnskogs kapell and Långseruds kyrka. The first two were probably abandoned during the Middle Ages or shortly after the Reformation; during archaeological excavations in 1959, the foundations of a wooden church with a nave and a narrower, straight-ended chancel were uncovered at each of the two abandoned churchyards. The medieval church site in Långserud is still in use.
