About the church
Karlskoga kyrka is a church building on Kungsvägen by Karlskoga town centre in the Diocese of Karlstad. It is the parish church of Karlskoga parish and is surrounded by a churchyard. The church is situated by the E18 and borders Karlskoga sjukstuga (the former cottage hospital) to the west; Maja Ekelöfs plats and the block Råkan to the east; and to the north Karlskoga konsthall (the art gallery), where Karlshall formerly stood, and the slopes at Rävåsen.
It is a red-painted wooden church from the early 17th century and has undergone renovations and extensions on several occasions. The building is the oldest surviving building in Karlskoga and is followed by villa Ekeliden.
