About the church
Juoksengi kyrka is a church building belonging to Övertorneå parish in the Diocese of Luleå. The church is located in the community of Juoksengi three kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. A few hundred metres to the east lie the river Torne älv and the border with Finland. The church is a foundation church owned and managed by the villagers. The parish makes an annual contribution to the foundation, and part of the running of the church is done through work carried out free of charge.
