About the church
Järstads kyrka is a church building in the historic parish of Järstad, Skänninge parish in the Diocese of Linköping, and Mjölby Municipality. The late Romanesque single-nave hall church (hall churches were introduced during the Gothic period, but since the church has been rebuilt several times, the reason for this later architectural style is found in the interior of the church) is built of red brick but was whitewashed in 1817. A number of alterations were made, including in the 18th and 19th centuries.
