About the church
Järlåsa kyrka is a church building in the church village of Järlåsa in Uppsala Municipality.
It came about largely on the initiative of Baron Gustaf Rosenhane, who owned the Bredsjö estate from 1654 to 1684. The church has been attributed to Nicodemus Tessin the Elder, who was the architect of a number of buildings erected by members of the Rosenhane family. Before this church was built, the parish had a wooden church, which was demolished in the early 18th century. The oldest church in the parish was a medieval stone church whose ruin lies about 500 metres north of the present church. Since the turn of the year 2005/2006 the church has belonged to Norra Hagunda parish, which resulted from a merger of, among others, Järlåsa parish.
