About the church
Holmedals kyrka is a church building in Holmedal in Årjäng Municipality. It is the parish church of Holmedal-Karlanda parish in the Diocese of Karlstad.
The present church is a white-plastered neoclassical building erected in 1854–1857 to designs by Carl-Gustaf Blom-Carlsson. It replaced a log-built cruciform church from 1686, which stood about 200 metres west of the present church. A medieval wooden church has also previously stood on the site.
