About the church
Himmeta kyrka is a church building that belongs to Malma parish in the Diocese of Västerås. The church lies in Köping Municipality. At the church site are the Himmeta folkskola (elementary school) from 1878, together with later school buildings, a few residential buildings from the 1960s, and the parish hall from 1912. The churchyard is laid out on an elongated elevation and has the form of an elongated rectangle with the short sides to the east and west. The main entrance in the north is a lychgate from 1909, reconstructed on a medieval model.
