About the church
Gylle kyrka is a church building in Gylle on the Söderslätt plain in Skåne. It belongs to Dalköpinge parish in the Diocese of Lund.
The church dates from the Middle Ages but has been extensively rebuilt. In 1875 the nave was extended eastwards and a new chancel was built, which changed the church markedly.
The altarpiece and pulpit date from the 16th century. The altarpiece is dated to around 1580, while the pulpit is somewhat younger.
A valuable chandelier for the church was donated to what was then Gylle parish in 1852 by its churchwarden Anders Larsson in Gylle. It was first used on Christmas Day 1852 at Ottesången, the early Christmas morning service.
