Gudmundrå kyrka

About the church

Gudmundrå kyrka is a church in Kramfors, the parish church of Gudmundrå parish in the Diocese of Härnösand.

The church is built on a hill east of the site of an older medieval stone church at Kyrkviken. The church was built under the direction of master builder Simon Geting, begun in 1799 and consecrated on 27 September 1801. On two occasions, in 1911–1912 and in 1951, the church has been restored.

Directly across the courtyard of the church building lies the smaller church Mariakapellet, built in 1935, which was adapted for disabled access and houses, among other things, a crematorium. In 1980 the Gudmundrå parish hall was built next to central Kramfors, one kilometre north-west of the church.
