About the church
Gärdslösa kyrka is a church building in Gärdslösa on Öland. It is the parish church of Gärdslösa, Långlöt and Runsten parish in the Diocese of Växjö.
The church is generally regarded as the best-preserved medieval church on Öland and was for a long time something of an ecclesiastical centre for the island. Princess Margaretha and John Ambler were married in Gärdslösa kyrka on 30 June 1964. During the summer months the church is a very popular tourist destination.
