In the 17th century the medieval church at Ströja was rebuilt to become a burial church and a monument to the Brahe family. It was then called Wisingsborgs slottskyrka (the castle church of Wisingsborg) and is a well-preserved example of the building of the Age of Greatness in Renaissance and Baroque style, with rich decoration, splendour and extravagance.
